We’ve long had a way to subscribe to CSS-Tricks via email. You probably couldn’t really call it a “newsletter” though, as it just consumed the RSS feed and sent out newly published articles each week. Nothing wrong with that, but it isn’t nearly as fun a custom-written one.
So, the new newsletter is here! It still links to everything we’ve published, so you won’t missing anything there, it’s just more elegantly summarized.

Here’s some reasons why it’s better now and you should sign up:
- We hand write it each issue
- There is content in there we don’t publish anywhere else
- There are links in there we don’t share anywhere else
- It’s an easy way to stay up-to-date on front end web design action
We’re just getting started on this little journey as well, so surely we’ll be tweaking the design and the style and the vibe and whatnot.
Hey, just wanted to let you know that when you sign up, the ‘Thanks for signing up!’ Screen still explains the newsletter to be the old way.
“Thanks for signing up to the newsletter!
It’s just clean copies of the blog posts we publish here, so you don’t miss anything.”
Unless that was what its supposed to say? idk. sorry. hides
Good catch. Updated that copy a bit.
If I am subscribed to the old newsletter am I automatically subscribed to the new newsletter?
ya.
BUT. I forgot to mention… There is a little checkbox right here in the comments area that says “Notify me of new posts by email.” That thing is different. That’s the Jetpack > WordPress.com thing which will send you an email from WordPress.com when posts are published. I can’t really control that (you can though).
FYI Firefox displays a warning when trying to submit the form http://i.imgur.com/7pwRi8n.png.
Looks like no SSL on the mailchimp confirm page? =( http://d.pr/i/1jKEn/kxo5Ue3U
Using the signup form above, takes me to another page, that says errors below : and indicates a blank email address.
