WP & Updates

I am a new user of WP, and realize that frequent updates to the software is all part and parcel to remaining cutting edge while offering new functionality to users. Should I be concerned about staying up to date, or should I remain with the current version installed? Simply, if it works should I take the risk to introduce the new version, or leave well enough alone?

I hope this doesn’t sound too finicky, with my limited experience, and blaring reminder to update, I’m a little perplexed on what I should be doing.

Sometimes, I choose not to upgrade on some of my clients.. simply because i don’t want wp-admin and wp-login styles changed.. but the only reason i would not update, is if the client’s site is a low traffic site. high traffic sites will see security issues when not upgrading
