WordPress Migration

I’m getting ready to migrate a site in wordpress to another host, and i’m fairly new to this side of things. I found a page that lists steps to follow, but I’m always curious to read about other options people have used. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys =)

The steps are pretty standard (there’s not really completely different ways of doing it), but without seeing the actual page with those steps you mentioned, it’s hard to tell discuss other options.

In general:

• Backup everything, including exporting SQL + data from the database via phpMyAdmin
• Create new database (new host), import SQL
• Install WordPress and configure wp-config.php file (new host) to use new hostname
• Now just copy content/themes/plugins
