    Hi,

    I am trying to build a site that’s powered by WordPress as a cms, not a blog. I am struggling with a really simple thing. I can’t find the answer perhaps because I don’t know the ‘term’ to search for.

    I want each page on my site to have 2 columns, a main column and a sidebar. The side bar is what I’m struggling with. I don’t want blog posts, categories, or calendars in there, I want unique text/pictures, just like I have unique text and images in the main column.

    I can’t find how to create a template that when I create a ‘new page’ in admin, gives me the text areas required to add content into the main and side columns.

    Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks,

    Sly.

    You could use Advanced Custom Fields (plugin).

    @TheDoc

    Do you know of a few great articles that go into ‘Advanced Custom Fields’?

    The plugin website itself has some pretty useful tutorials: http://plugins.elliotcondon.com/advanced-custom-fields/

    Having said that, it’s pretty straightforward once you get into it.
