    Hey,

    I am in the process of redesigning my current website: http://joshuajohnson.co.uk

    I have got bored of the design and it has suffered from the “css turning shit after 12 months” problem. I actually think the current design does a poor job at displaying my work and has far too much text.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    @siouxfan45 Design isn’t about trends. I do agree the body type should be improved and there are white-space issues.

    > Design is all subjective.

    No, it really isn’t. But I won’t get into that and hijack this thread.

    @jshjohnson
    I’d like to see this in a live version. It would be easier to discuss changes and see them quicker.

    It’s hard to tell how the site looks on my screen compared to yours as it’s an image. From what I see, the line-length might be a problem for readability.

    The variable height of the slider doesn’t work for me, keeping the page more rigid by having a fixed height would be a lot easier on the eye I feel

    A couple of quick suggestions:

    – Make the contact form larger. It’s the only thing on the page and I’m guessing that most inquiries are going to be longer than 20-30 words.

    – You may or may not agree with this point, but if you’re looking for clients then I think that revealing that you’re so young may be detrimental to your chances of landing bigger ones. While I think it’s awesome that you’re obviously a talented designer/developer at a young age, your clients might not see it this way. I’d maybe leave the photo of you off for now and not let on your age, just your interests, skills, passions etc.

    @siouxfan45
    Seems so much of a troll post.
    That contact form you showed is the same thing bootstrap’s been doing for a while now.

    Okay here is a working version of the design: http://joshuajohnson.co.uk/wordpress/

    I am still developing the portfolio pages hence the dodgy slider – thanks

    EDIT: Having trouble with transferring from localhost – give us a sec
