If you’re interested in a new, hackable text editor… you might try Atom:

It’s basically modular text editor created by Github that I found out about from @Alen.

I signed up to Beta test it but now I’ve changed my mind. I know a lot of people here use ST2 but if you’re interested in something new, give it a shot!

Have you tried it yet? Do you like it?

It’s only for Mac, and version of OSX am using at work is not compatible so didn’t get a chance to demo. But from what I’ve read online, it’s pretty decent.

I’m leaning towards PHPStorm / Sublime combo anyways… I just wanted to give this quick run… I’ll have to wait til new Mac comes in :)

Oh no! I thought I saw that they had a Linux package available? Maybe that will be once it’s out of Beta.

I’m making a VERY concerted effort to learn Vim and so far, I like it very much. But… I don’t need anything else on my plate text-editor wise. The learning curve of Vim is hard enough.

Anyone have an invite they could spare? I’d like to try it out. chris[at]chrisburton.me

Off-topic: I love the question mark from Ideal Sans.
