Hi guys, I have a couple of wordpress sites and heard that uploading files through Dreamweavers built in SFTP function is best when editing files as it time/date stamps the files in a way that makes it work better with search engines. Is this true? I used Filezilla previously to do all file uploads and edited the code im komodo which I found better to use.
Thanks
I’ve never heard of that before. Shouldn’t matter for a WordPress site at all.
You heard wrong. [Search Engine Optimization](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_engine_optimization) has nothing to do with the way you upload your files to your server.
Great, thanks just couldn’t find much on google about it so thought you guys on here would know. Would it make any difference to a static website?
Thanks
What would make a difference? Am not sure I’m following you
transferring the files through dreamweaver, if it doesnt make a difference with WordPress. Would it make a difference if I wasnt using WordPress?
Thanks
Search engines [care about your content](http://www.seomoz.org/google-algorithm-change), clean site structure, speed, etc. Not what you are using to upload files to your server.
Great thanks for your help :)
