I am wondering if its a good idea to have a CMS made for my website, I don’t think I’ll get in to detail about the site, but it is needed to run it. Right now I am using wordpress, Im wondering if it would be a good idea, for sake performance, security, etc, to have one made, or just have WP customized and finely tuned? any ideas?

Mike, I would go buy a theme for your site. It would look much better than what you have going now.
Check themeforest.net, they have very high quality themes for low prices. Then I would buy this plugin

If WordPress does the job that you want it to, I don’t see why you would want to spend the time building something custom.

You can do a lot of customization with the CMS’s that are currently available.
