There is a classic video transition is when a tile (with some text on it) splits diagonally to reveal the next tile.

I had attempted to recreate that in CSS in this Codepen pen. However, I failed to do so since the text doesn’t seem to stick together and falls apart at the slightest movement of the browser window.

Also, I am unable to select the whole text in one go….

Is there a better way to recreate this animation so that:
    1) It is responsive (does not fall apart when the veiwport size is changed)
    1) I am able to select all the text in one go….

Well, I was able to make the effect responsive in this pen which was mainly what I needed.
