Pros/Cons of offering hosting?

I’m still trying to figure out my business model and am wondering if some more experienced people can offer feedback on whether or not it is worth it to offer hosting services (via reseller) with their design packages. I know that it can bring in a steady monthly income, but is it worth the headaches? What do most customers expect in the way of hosting? Thanks.

I’ve toyed with the idea a number of times.The big reason I haven’t is that if anything goes wrong, they will expect me to fix it. If they are unhappy with the hosting, they will see it as my fault. If they get hacked, they will blame me for not providing enough security.

No matter how carefully you explain that you are setting them up with another service who has 100% control, in their eyes you are still responsible. Potentially, that can cause a lot of bad will. If the host screws up bad and their servers are down for an extended period, that could be the end of your relationship with all the clients you host via a reseller account on that server.

I just don’t see enough positives to make up for the potential negatives.
