After creating a menu I see that I get some problems when people use other browsers (or fonts that are bigger) that show the text in bigger size. Then the menu get cut into two lines, or the whole menu will not be centered. Is there any way of doing this menu in a more safe way?

If people need really large text size then your whole design can fall apart. Do the same thing with Google and you will see that their menu overflows. The only surefire way is to make your navigation using images, see this site and increase the text size. That’s why a lot of people don’t like top centered navigation.

You could try something like this : http://innonesen.se/test/l-2-txt/
But IMO it add too much tags for use in a menu.
