    Howdy,
    I have a pen here. Its a simple css only menu .

    Now the the background color for the menu is visible on hover the menu item. I wanna show the background color change effect when the page refresh(Eg: css-tricks.com v9). Could you guys help me to get this effect !

    Not sure what you are asking/

    Page refresh?

    Do you mean you want the current link/page to be highlighted on each page as you land on it?

    Generally that requires Javascript although on a very small site it can be done with CSS and classes.
