Making mobile responsive filtered search

I am using a slightly tweaked version of this filtered portfolio search which pretty much hits the spot. The one area where it falls short is that it doesn’t provide a responsive design with results stacking three abreast rather than on top of each other when viewed on a mobile screen. Is there a (relatively) easy fix for creating such a solution.
