Make a visual composer template into a shortcode?

Hi all,
I really need to figure out a way to solve a problem for a client. I built their wordpress site and used Visual Composer– and the employee section is getting hard to manipulate. I thought it would be awesome if I could use visual composer to make a template (I know this part) and then make it so that this template could be called into the page through visual composers list of short codes. I know you can map short code to add to the list but I have no idea how or if I can create a shortcode from template. Hope this makes sense.
