mail function in wordpress offline enviroment

I’ve search around the www globe, very hard to found one good detail,but is it possible, to test the mail function in wordpress, locally setup in my pc, using wamp server? I want to test if it’s working especially when new user registering and get the password. i know the easiest solution would be get a domain, but just my enthusiasm to know. :D

If anyone know, gratefully appreciated. Kindly give me a brief step for it.

yes i do stumble upon this when i was doing the search, but… the phpmailer lack of instruction what so ever. keep saying copy the damn 2 file which i don’t know where to drop, and also how to setup everything. do you know how doc?
