    Hi all,
Im looking for a way to create this effect (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9net7IbI0L0MFVtZE1HVFNFaVU/edit?usp=sharing) in pure CSS. It must be behind text and images and grow/shrink to fit various div sizes.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Heather

Here’s an example that (only) works in Chrome.

I guess another approach would be to use SVG background images.

Thanks for the quick reply, Joren…
I do need it to work in more browsers. At least the current and previous versions of the top 4- I’m not sure that SVG hits that mark.
Any other ideas? Can you layer PNGs at various alphas? If I start at a larger size and go down with scale that might work?
