How to prevent a vimeo player video from playing till visible

I have several vimeo videos displayed using the jqueryUI tabs. However, no matter what I try, all the videos show up when only the first one is supposed to. And then when the page loads, then they disappear (except for the video in the showing tab). I’ve tried javascript and css to make sure the tabs and videos are displayed none, I’ve set importants, I’ve tried .hide(). No matter what, all the videos show up till the page loads, then snaps to how it should look.

Well I got it but I have no idea why it works. Before I was targeting the divs specifically and it did nothing. So I targeted the parent in css and then the div, and it worked. Not sure why.
