Can someone give me a really simply rundown of how to actually use this plugin?
Please assume I know nothing.
Also, is there a better option for parallax/scroll effects?
@joe_temp Can you link to the plugin so everyone doesn’t have to waste time by searching for it?
If this doesn’t do it for you, I don’t know where to direct you :: http://www.instantshift.com/2012/09/03/creating-cool-scrolly-stuff-with-scrollorama/
if it’s just the parallax scroll effect you’re after, the better (performance, lightweight, etc) option is probably the most complicated :: http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorials/html-css-techniques/simple-parallax-scrolling-technique/

Sorry @chrisburton, I assumed everyone knew what this was. I thought it was the default parallax plugin. Anyway, from what I can tell, there are two different libraries. One is called Scrollorama:

These are by the same dude on Github. Anway, I’m asuming one is the original and the other is the 2.0 version. I’ll check out what @Boogiesox posted and get back to you guys.
Ok, so now I’m trying to actually use Superscrollorama and there is a learning curve for sure.
I found a simple example on Github by the guy who created it. Here it is:
Anyway, I’m trying to tweak this code so I can understand what’s going on. But… when I load the file in a browser, alas it is only black text on a white screen.
What am I missing?
You can use Cool Kitten: A parallax scrolling responsive framework –
I have used same for my theme Namaste – Free Responsive One Page Portfolio
