IE seems to be the weak point in regards to support for flexbox. According to the link I supplied above, it suggests that roughly 4.72% of IE Browser usage (versions 8 & 9) are unsupported.

    What do you think?

The answer is,of course, it depends.

    …on a lot of things.

Does you intended audience use non-supporting browsers…?

Are you really willing to manage all the old syntaxes to manage the old supporting browsers…?

Do you have an adequate fallback?

Do you really need flexbox for this project?

I’m still trying to support IE9 (Vista) myself so I’m not using it. Instead I resort to viewport units and transformY for vertical alignment.

I’ve been toying with this question myself recently. I’ve started to use it for small bits and bobs like re-ordering a few items here and there as well as nice, edge-to-edge menu items among other things.

As long as you provide an alternative for those on browsers that don’t support it you’re fine! They might not get the exact same experience but it’ll still work for them. Modernizr is a wonderful thing!
