    So I need to get better at javascript and I am looking for good books on the the subject. Is Dom Scripting still worth the read even though it was written in 2005?

    I am looking for books on javascript that: cover the basics and focus on web standards and progressive enhancement.

    2005 ? Forget about it… Many things have changed in the last stable version (JS 1.8.5 released in 2011) including keywords… I recommend JavaScript : the definitive guide (sixth edition) from the O’Reilly library

    Good to know. I admire Jeremy Keith’s writing so I had to ask. Thanks for the reply.
