Can someone please tell me what [class*=”span”] means in CSS?
Example:
[class*=”span”] {
display:inline;
float:left;
margin-left:20px;
}
So does that mean that all items with a class of “span” have those CSS characteristics?

Here is an update of @ChristopherBurton’s fiddle to illustrate the answer to the original question: http://jsfiddle.net/sl1dr/kSQmk/
I would also recommend having a read of this article: http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorials/html-css-techniques/the-30-css-selectors-you-must-memorize/
It explains attribute selectors (CSS 2.1 and CSS3) plus much more.
Oh no, that’s my fault. This is what happens when a designer answers a question on development.
@ChristopherBurton Not at all, you were the only one to do up a demo. I would have overlooked that asterisk 50% of the time too.
