Background images and vertical navigation bars

Hey Guy,

I’m new to Html/Css, i just started with it just yesterday. Basically i have an a vertical navigation bar and I am trying to have a background image, but the image keeps appearing under the navigation bar but not in the body of the website.

I tried all i know, from clear:both; to float right and left but nothing works.. Can somebody please help me

We’d need to see a basic demo of your code in Codepen.io.

Not the whole codebase…just enough to demonstrate the issue.

No sure how a background image’s position would be affected by floated elements but without seeing it…it’s hard to help.
