    Hi – Can anyone tell me the easiest way to add some hint text inside the default google custom search box e.g. “type and hit enter to search blog”. Thereby, eliminating the need for the search button next to the box. I’m just using the default code with no additional styling applied to the box as yet.

    Easy!

    Then you could add some JavaScript to clear it when the user clicks it. Good luck.

    @Paulie_D – definitely, just have to make sure to take care of IE with some JS.
