How much should I charge to update a WordPress site that needs abt twenty:
    Facebook issues
    Google maps issues
    Random text changes
    Adding food menus

All these issues are on abt twenty diff pages. Price?

    $100,000.

But seriously, it’s really hard to tell what you should charge without understanding the project in greater detail, your level of skill and competence, your personal expenses, how much you value your time? etc.

    > abt twenty

[About twenty] is an indication you have no idea how many. Are these changes clearly outlined in scope of the project? In the contract?

    Again

    > it’s 19 pages I have to fix the fb, google map, twitter…

    is VERY vague.

Google Map, do you need to develop this page based on Google Map API or simply have jpeg image? HUGE difference in time, effort and money.

    > How much are you worth, is it comparable to industry averages, and how much is your work worth? Add these 3, divide by 3, there’s your answer.

    Huh?

One (or more) of these is not a number…

The amount of those factors, while nice to know, are irrelevant if at the end of the day you aren’t paying your bills and aren’t meeting the personal expectations that you have for yourself in terms of growth and experience.

    Obviously my opinion. :)

    > How much are you worth: $2,500/site – @siouxfan45

Yeah, that doesn’t make any sense. How can one come to a simple conclusion of prices for a project without looking at a project? This isn’t how you should be pricing anything.

    > The power of math.

All of your math averages to $2500. Why do the math when that’s how much you’re worth.

Please do not calculate your prices like this.

You have to take into consideration, cost of operating the business (meeting, coffee, massage, lunch, travel, meetings)all take time and money, then you have to see how much your personal expenses are (house, food, car, kids) then you have to make a profit on top of all these expenses. This is sustainable. Your math is not.

Does this apply to any region/country? I’m in the Philippines, and “I think” maybe no one will spend around $2,000 for a website.

I’m still learning web design/dev so haven’t had any real projects yet. It’s good to know early just in case, right.

BTW can I ask, how do “front-end web developers” showcase their works? I’ve been working on my own portfolio but I really don’t know what to put. I’ve dowloaded some free website templates and hand-coded it but I’m afraid to just put it on my portfolio.

    Sorry for spamming..

    Thanks

    > C’mon man, you don’t take massages into account? :)

Why not? Everyone deserves a massage after 3/4month project is completed. All that sitting behind computer, you need some pampering time. ;)

Thing I would consider to reach a reasonable payment.

    1. Your weekly ‘reasonable’ expenses. (i.e – bills, insurances, and so on)
    2. Any taxes you may have to pay
    3. A reasonable markup percentage (your profit)

As a base take minimum wage add 5% for those just entering the industry once you get more experience you will be able to make a more accurate assumption.

this is off course my opinion.
