Hi guys
I have one client that needs to implement an e-commerce website I’m planning to buy a template on template monster cause we don’t do those kinds of websites, and I need to know all the characteristics of those websites before I buy it like:
– Do I need to install something ?
– Are there different kinds of e-commerce platforms?
– It can be managed by the client (putting stuff in or out)?etc
Hope you guys can help
*by the way, I told my client we didn’t do e-commerce and we didn’t have any experience on them buy she insisted we do it anyway, we’re not misleading her or taking advantage.
Thanks

While I havn’t delved into that myself, I would just try to get as much info before you buy them to see how easy they have it setup for you to add items and payments. Also security

You really need to give a bit more information because the right solution will depend on how many indivual products and individual sku you will be dealing with. I personally don’t like using a basic plugin solution with WordPress thats more then 25 to 50 products in range. However, I’m sure there be a load of people on this forum who will disagree with this remark. I’ve also used a plugin solutions with ExpressionEngine with a much larger product ranges.
However I normally used an online system for larger shopping cart system. I’ve had some good results with Shopify however I never really liked there forum system because it not dated that clearly which leads you to spend a load of time reading out of day forum posts a real pain in the bum!
