Hi again.
What are some good FREE fonts for body text?
And which is better, use the Google Web Font API or download the Fonts and use @font-face?
Thanks.
Hi @chester
There’s no point re-inventing the wheel, so check out [this thread](https://css-tricks.com/forums/discussion/10949/typekit-vs-google-web-fonts#Item_27 “”) on here. Obviously you can just ignore the TypeKit comparison.
@chester Georgia is most likely the best ‘free’ typeface. I’m personally not willing to sacrifice quality over a price tag which you receive with most Google Web Fonts. If I had no other choice I would go with Droid Sans and Droid Serif. But I highly recommend using Webtype.
@Watson90, @chrisburton.. thanks guys. I’ll check those fonts but first I’ll review on ‘typefaces’ because honestly I don’t know what a ‘Webtype’ is.
@chester when others speak of “fonts”, most people are actually referring to the design, not the software.
fonts = software (e.g. mp4)
typefaces = the design/appearance
Webtype is a high quality webfont distributor. http://webtype.com
