Hi
I’d like to create a custom meta box for my custom post-type and have gone through a number of tutorials that are either too simple, or too complex for my needs.
Ones I have gone through so far:
http://wp.smashingmagazine.com/2011/10/04/create-custom-post-meta-boxes-wordpress
http://www.farinspace.com/wpalchemy-metabox/
I’ve also tried to look up Meta Box in my Digging Into WordPress 3.4 PDF, but can’t seem to find anything on it.
Long story short, I’d like to create a meta box for my Products custom post-type, that has 6 simple text input fields.
But first, some details you might need to know:
Custom Post-type: Products
Custom Post-type ID: products
Meta Box Name / ID: Product Details
I’d appreciate being pointed in the right direction (with a link to a decent tutorial) or even more so with a code snippet from a willing helper.
Thanks in advance.
@jonedwards I use the WPAlchemy plugin. Here is my entire snippet that is located in functions.php

Note: My metabox only consists of a description textarea
Hey, @chrisburton.
Thanks for this. It’s certainly a start. Appreciate it.
Will let you know how it goes.
