I am building a multi-author blog to help push traffic for my part time website design pastime(read small biz). I have spent the last couple of weeks tweaking the site and I wanted to ask for your opinion with regards to the design and layout. I have no technical background and have self-learned what I now know about websites and WordPress. The site is a Health and Tech Blog at http://www.mcneri.com. thanks for your input.
your nav bar breaks to another line after MONEY.
In general I like the layout of the site. I would make the width of the site less than 1200px or use a fluid width. “Join The Conversation here” link in the header is hard to notice it is a link. I don’t like the multi coloured text over the cliff image.
Sounds harsh but it is nice in general.
Thank you. Will make adjustments.
Your site is completely broken in Firefox 5. Suggest you fix the errors http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mcneri.com%2F
I see a huge white space in Safari, between the side bar and the content.
Thanks for all the feedback. I have revamped the site and corrected errors.
I would say everything is still much too large. Too much of your page’s meaty info is below the fold, because your logo and navigation takes up half the page (and I am using 1280×1024; many of your users might still use 1024×768, which will make the page even less user-friendly). I recommend downsizing everything across the board.
Try pressing “Ctrl -” once or twice, the site is much easier on the eyes at a smaller size. To get back to default size, press “Ctrl 0”.
