hi there,
I’m using the anything slider to slide youtube videos and it works on the ipad.
The only problem is that it shows all the video’s in the carrousell.
Can this be fixed? i tried to disable the carrousel on ipad and that works but the wp-cache, caches the output and since we need the cache to work i need to find a solution to get the slider work on ipad.the other problem is that in some browsers (ie & ff) the slideshow keeps switching movies while playing one… is this a known issue?
thanks in advance!

thanks for the quick answer. I do think i’m using the latest version of AnythingSlider.
You can also check it in Opera as is has the same issue as an iOS device.
you can check it on : http://baxvideo.vergetest.nl/
This is our development environment so don’t mind the design etc :)June 8, 2011 at 4:15 pm #73744VergezogtMemberWich part of the problem do you refer too?
I renamed the ul id and the script but then it doesnt slide anymore so i changed it back.
Any other suggestions?June 10, 2011 at 5:19 am #73582VergezogtMemberThanks! I’ll be on vacation upcoming week. When i get back i’ll pick this up and let you know if that did the trick!
thanks again!July 11, 2011 at 8:27 am #83438VergezogtMemberHello Mottie,
Last week i’ve started using the newest edition of anything slider but it didn’t fix the youtube sliding issue on the ios devices. So I’ve tested your own examples on the website and it has the issue aswell. Can i conclude that this is an ios issue and won’t be fixed with any solution as youtube is a flash player etc? or do you got another possible solution for it?
thanks in advance!
July 11, 2011 at 4:18 pm #83406MottieMemberHi Vergezogt!
It’s not an iOS issue.. None of the suggested changes in my last two posts were implemented, so it won’t start working properly until they are done.
July 12, 2011 at 3:39 am #83367VergezogtMemberHi Mottie,
Maybe i wrote it a bit silly but what i ment was that i used my ipad to browse to : https://css-tricks.com/examples/AnythingSlider/ and on those examples the issue also excists.
So that’s why I assumed it’s an issue that can’t be fixed. Am i wrong?July 12, 2011 at 3:40 am #83368VergezogtMemberI’ve also used the latest files : http://www.vergetest.nl/anything/video.html
And on that video page the issue excists on the youtube movies.
The vimeo files are working properly tho.July 12, 2011 at 1:36 pm #83332MottieMemberHi Vergezogt!
Oh you’re saying flash doesn’t work on iOS? And you thought I solved that? LOL… Steve Jobs iz a noobz, I HAX hiz syztimz! o.O
For YouTube and Vimeo, use the iframe player.
July 18, 2011 at 8:35 am #83545VergezogtMemberI allready figured that out (lol fast huh :) )
anyway maybe it’s a language barrier, or the function name wich i can’t find :)
But is there a way that it doesnt keep sliding as soon as a movie is playing? ( so not on hoover but just stop sliding when a movie is playing?)July 18, 2011 at 9:09 am #83547MottieMemberHi Vergezogt!
It appears that you are using AnythingSlider version 1.1 which has no video support. The newest version 1.7.4, which does have video support, is here.
As I said before, in Firefox, the video thumbnails overlap the slider videos and make it almost impossible to watch.
July 19, 2011 at 4:53 am #83617VergezogtMemberIs there an easy way to replace the 1.1 with the newest?
I tried all sorts of methods but it doesnt start or functionAnd then i mean is there documentation how to upgrade the player?
Or is it just replacing the old files with the new files and the way how to call the procedures and then it should work?Or should i simply load the wordpress plugin and use those functions from there?
It looks like the wordpress version is the most recent one with video support?July 19, 2011 at 9:10 am #83621MottieMemberYeah, I think using the wordpress plugin would be the easiest way to go… you don’t need to do anything extra but include the video extension for it to start working.

It doesn’t slide at all. any things we’re doing wrong?
July 19, 2011 at 10:01 am #83626MottieMemberHey, it looks like that page is loading jQuery twice… the first version is 1.4.4 and the second version is 1.3.2. I believe the problem is AnythingSlider is bound to the first jQuery, but because of the second copy, above the slider initialization script it is trying to initialize the slider using the second copy of jQuery…. remove the second copy!
