HTML, CSS, Javascript? Do they use it altogether?

What website do you want to create?I want to make a website with news about open source (multimedia). And the most important part is, I want to offer support for people who wants to use open source software in their recording studio. So I offer basically an customized/optimized Ubuntu version for multimedia and offer support for it.
So I was thinking about such a slider for some screenshots of the Ubuntu version and multimedia apps. And I want to have rss feeds of open source (multimedia) news.
Just some testing: http://opensourcestudio.wikidot.com/
edit: do you work in a web compose software tool? Where should I put the pictures for the slider? On the internet?
