I’ve seen a few topics lately where people complain about Chrome lagging with performance. Then today I noticed that this is suddenly very glitchy on that browser – and on Opera as well :

Used to be fine before. Anyone else seeing this or noticed any change on their pages?

The effect isn’t really visible on this scaled pen by the way.

I’ve had a lot of problems over the last week or 2, it’s hard to describe other than saying the browser goes crazy! Lots of random glitches all over the place. It seems to be something to do with the latest release of Chrome.

For now, I’ve found disabling “use hardware acceleration when available” in advanced settings has helped as a temporary fix!

Thanks for the quick reply and the useful info! Glad to see some confirmation and really hope they fix it soon. Let them not become the new old IE…

Indeed disappears when I turn hardware acceleration off.

Never mind, it looked like it had been fixed but I’m actually still seeing glitches.

I’ve been having a lot of glitches/ issues with Chrome on my work computer only. I had a regular amount of extensions added. Nothing over the top, just regular developer stuff. So I uninstalled all extensions. Issues still there. So I tried to resinstall Chrome and reset it. Issues still there. It’s annoying.

Same thing’s happening with Opera. Must be something wrong with the engine. Curious it hasn’t been spotted and fixed yet. Annoying indeed. This seems related :
