responsive multi level menu not working

I’m trying to make a responsive menu. The issue I’m having is that on small screens, the sub-menu appears over the main menu, and hides it; plus i want that the submenu to be in same level as menu and show bottom of the parent li . Also, when the sub-menu is visible, the scrollbar appears.
can any one help me please?

Please make a reduced case demo in Codepen.io rather than dropping a dump of code.

Only include HTML & CSS that is relevant to the issue.
