Need a Flickr Widget (badge)

  • # October 5, 2008 at 3:50 pm

I need to add a Flickr sourced widget (or badge) to add to a customer’s site I am designing. It’s a wordpress backed semi-blog style site. They would like to pull 6 or 8 random thumbnails from their Flickr group that has several hundred images contributed by several members, rotating the images every so often so that visitors don’t see the same set of images for days.

I have spent quite a bit of time looking for a ready-to-insert one but can’t find one that fits the bill. Here are the requirements:

    • pull photos from a group, set is ok but group is preferred
    • randomize the display of photos
    • create links back to Flicker for each image
    • only need thumbnails, not full size image
    • fully customizable display via CSS
    • I would prefer it not be flash based, but I may cave on this one
    • [/list:u]

Anyone seen something like this, or can point me in the right direction?

I’m not sure if this is what you’re looking for but if you have a look here, css-tricks.com/examples/, you’ll see Chris’ downloadable WordPress theme (3rd one down). It includes a flickr widget – I’m not sure if it fits the bill but you could give it a try. :)
