Hello, I need a little help to show recent posts from a category and to customize it with CSS so I can get a view like the one in the image below:

I want to show it at the homepage only inside a special sidebar in the homepage. I need to show the last post from that category in a single column with bigger thumbnail,title and except, in hte second column 2-3 post after that with smaler thumbnails and titles.
