    I would split up your sidebar and main post area for a start…

    may be add an RSS icon at the top right to take up some of the space

    make a good line break between posts

    change the font used in the justin edelson…. it is a bit bland

    and maybe add a border to show the main area, like a transparent white to just give the hint of a border

    If you really want it to jump out then It needs some color. The black background at the bottom is too dark and it takes concentration away from the blog posts. Also Separate your posts and sidebar. Perhaps a while border on the sidebar and put a white line below your posts.
