Help Modifying Simple Dropdown

I need something like the simple dropdown, but I want the menus to slide a little more smoothly. I’m new at JQuery. How do I modify this to smoothly drop down?

Or, does anyone know of a different menu where I can achieve this?

There are thousands of tutorials / scripts about this all over the web, just do a simple google search and you will find your answer, but I am sure if you do a search on css-tricks, Chris has done a tutorial about this.
