    I’m switching from an icon font to SVGs using Grumpicon, which inserts the SVGs as background images. What I liked about using icon fonts was easy styling with CSS. My question is how do you create a hover effect with an SVG inserted as a background image.

    Don’t think you can…with CSS…unless it’s like a sprite system.

    JS/JQ would be an option though.

    Of course, I’m not familiar with Grumpicon.
