    hey there peeps,

just read the article on [preventing performance hits](https://css-tricks.com/preventing-the-performance-hit-from-custom-fonts/)

however dave’s example doesn’t appear to work for me.

    [here it is](http://codepen.io/davatron5000/pen/nrfGA)

I want to load different fonts based on pixel density and resolution, without them actually loaded when they shouldn’t.

anyone knows what i am possibly doing wrong, or things to watch for?

ps: working with google webfonts just as in the example

For me the font gets requested no matter if it’s needed or not, so I’d say no @ topic title.

EDIT: Maybe smart phones are… smarter than desktop browsers though.

exactly, for me it was the same.. anyone else? cause if thats true, the article has a false statement in it , isnt it?

of course alternative methods are nice too! :)
