avoiding horizontal scrolling from bg images

    ok guys im just starting out doing this. im good in photoshop and learned dreamweaver but im having a few issues i cant figure out.

    1. how do i make a patterned bg fit to any sizescreen without having a horizontal scroll bar?

    obv a plain colored bg will fit bc it will just expand but im having trouble w a patterned bg. is it css? is it a php thing? i have no clue and im dying. PLEASE HELP!!!!

    It’s because the image is larger than the viewport but you can control this with CSS. I believe background-size or background-attachment is the answer.

    well what ive been doing is creating a bg layout in PS and chopping it up and importing it into dreamweaver w div tags….so its not a full bg…its chopped up…is that the wrong way to do it?

    Feels like the wrong way to go…but as has been said, without sight of a screenshot or some code it’s hard to help further.
