Any way to edit functions.php to change image URL’s?

Hi everyone, we just did a massive migration of a site and it made me wonder: is there any possible way to make the process more simple by forcing WP to use relative URL’s instead of the entire path?? I’m wondering if a line can override that functionality in the functions.php, but I’m just not fluent enough to know where to start. And then again, it might screw up the way some plugins work but I’d be curious if someone was ever successful – it would sure make migrations WAY easier.

I hope you haven’t been change URLs manually, there’s an amazing plugin for that! Check out Velvet Blues Updates URLs, I use it on nearly every project when moving from dev to live.

On the last 3 projects… yes I’m sad to say :) But it wasn’t quite so bad. Usually when I insert images on a WP site, one of the steps I take is to just delete the unnecessary prefix of the image URL. 99% of the images came through except the one off. Thanks for the tip – awesome looking plugin man!
