It’s not clear to me what is meant by “How are they holding up?”. In several cases it’s not just the art-directed articles that are gone, it’s the entire articles section, or the entire site. People move on from blogging, or they decide on a completely new approach to their web presence and throw everything out the window and start over leaving all articles behind. It happens.
If anything I think that the ones that are still there, like Hip Hop Quoted, are magnificent and show that this is totally possible and viable in the long term if approached properly.
Rad Nauseam’s entire domain redirects to malware. Is that because of art-direction or someone just moving on from blogging (or whatever caused that domain to be abandoned)?
