We are happy to let you know that we packaged up the source code and the Photoshop mockups from Colored Lists and are offering them up for your downloading pleasure.
Sorry, but the source code for this demo is no longer available. Honestly, it’s outdated anyway, and you’d be better off looking for a newer tutorial series. We’d recommend Wes Bos’ React for Beginners.
Also, congrats to: Bryan, gemmes, Gaston, An, and Mike Henderson. You folks were the randomly chosen winners of Jason’s book PHP for Absolute Beginners.
Thanks for posting the source code.
in: index.php it requires: common/base.php which in-turn requires: ‘inc/FirePHPCore/FirePHP.class.php’
directory: FirePHPCore was not in the download
Also was the ‘sql’ included to create the database?
Yes, but I found these files on google code : http://code.google.com/p/firephp/source/browse/branches/Library-FirePHPCore-0.3/lib/FirePHPCore/
you need “FirePHP.class.php” and “fb.php” just copy and paste the code, it worked for me
Thanks man..!
thank for the info.
Well done guys – its a great book :)
Thanks so much for holding this contest + providing the complete guide to creating an app!
Can’t wait to get the book!
Thanks Bro. It simply rocks
Many thanks :D
I used coloredlists to create a list containing Chinese characters, and I found it cannot display Chinese characters properly. Please see my public list as follows:
http://coloredlists.com/ef8446f35513a8d6aa2308357a268a7e.html
I suspect the Chinese characters I inputted were converted into other encoding when the list was stored in database.
Is there a way to make coloredlists support Chinese characters in making the lists?
I enjoyed and learned a lot from your great work. Million thanks.
Using a different character set in the database would clear this up. We’re using utf_general_ci — I’m not sure which one is the best choice for Chinese characters.
Amazing! Finally, someone brave and confident enough to post the source code AND photoshop files of their work.
I hope more people do this all around. If everyone starts doing it, than maybe people will stop being so insecure about others stealing their stuff!
I was able to set up the source files in live domain for the purposes of testing and examining the files (I also followed the tutorial!), but I seem to be having an issue with the lists not saving into the database and also the public url doesn’t seem to be working for me. I’ve changed the url in the index.php page but it directs to page not found.
here is the url
http://www.themnml.com (just a url I’ve had lying around)
Ultimately I would like to study this code to learn how to put together a basic running journal for people to log their runs – and share their training regimes. I think this could be a great resource for that type of application!
Thanks for your efforts
