    Thank you for bringing MT to my attention Chris.

    We chatted here a while back. I had been having numerous issues with Ipower. Last night I purchased a grid here, and I was going to do my Domain at Godaddy and point it to MT, but MT offered the Domain for $5 ( so I grabbed it here).

    very true. a friend of mine asked me to help with his new domains, which he had hosted with Godaddy, and I had one heck of hard time trying to figure out their process.

    GoDaddy is so bad… I use Host Gator, which I LOVE. I think they have like 24/7 chat support and it’s quick… I HATE GoDaddy, not only do they park domain names you search for, but they make you pay for a bunch of little things like adding an email account, even if you have the unlimited plan… not to mention the 3 pages of adds you have to read through because you can never tell which continue or submit button is the right one… And the support? I would call their NON toll-free number and have to sit on hold for 20 minutes, no matter what time I called… that’s ridiculous.

    I haven’t tried MT. I see them advertised everywhere, but I heard they aren’t that great.

    Tad bit expensive, but the support is right on. Another host you can try is FiveBean. They have, usually, a 50%-60% reoccuring discount on stuff. If the discount is only 30%, or the like, enter the code UBUNTU to get an automatic 50% reoccuring discount. They’re nothing too spectacular, but they get the job done in 90% of the cases.

    Havent tried MT yet, too happy with HostGator to even think of switching. Support is super quick.

    Can anyone with MT grid hosting offer their 2 cents on the downtime problems that seem to be talked about all over the interwebs? I’ve been wanting to upgrade to MT but I’m concerned about paying 3x what I currently pay for a service with serious downtime issues.

    Is that the people who have had positive experiences with MT have had the dedicated virtual plan, while all those who had problems with MT have had the grid plan?
