In this screencast we take a look at Jeff's existing website. This series isn't so much "redesign" focused as the v10 series was, but there is an existing website here and we will be using some existing content from it. Even if we weren't, we should be well acquainted with what came before in order to move forward.

There is quite a bit about the site that is falling apart. It's hard to read. It's hard to manage. It's hard to use on small screens. There are features that are largely broken. It's navigation is inconsistant.

Plenty to improve upon naturally, but even more importantly, we should find out why Jeff want's to redesign and his goals.

    Still a lot better than any site I’v made. Has some similarities to your last version of chriscoyier.net.

Posting Code

We highly encourage you to post problematic HTML/CSS/JavaScript over on CodePen and include the link in your post. It's much easier to see, understand, and help with when you do that.

Markdown is supported, so you can write inline code like `<div>this</div>` or multiline blocks of code in triple backtick fences like this:

```
<script>
  function example() {
    element.innerHTML = "<div>code</div>";
  }
</script>
```

We have a pretty good* newsletter.
