    well what i’m planning on doing is a way for a photographer to upload images to their site, also have 2 more sites which are for bands and they will probably want to be able to update the content by themselves. I’ve tried using zen photo and it works on my computer when i use wamp but when i put it on to a server that i paid for it doesn’t work at all which is a pain in the ass for me. don’t buy from streamline.net they seem to be missing alot of stuff.

    i’ve worked with wordpress a little bit starting off with starkers theme and just messing around with positioning and stuff

    i was reading a magazine "webdesigner" and there was interviews with several recruitment "high ups" and the demand for flash designers is supposedly rising even with the economy is going down the toilet. i love coding and with javascript its starting to do things that i used flash for. so i have no clue why recruiters are after flash developers.

    well what i’m trying to do is add an image to the bottom and top of the main div, i don’t have the site up live because its working off my local host using winamp, but heres a pic of what it looks like now.
    http://www.stray-designs.com/pics/pic.html
    and the one at the bottom shows the container and how it should look like.

    and from the first post you can see the html and css for the page.

    oh and the css for the site is

    Code:
    html {

    height: 100%;
    }

    /* Main Layout
    —————————— */
    body {
    background-color:#1D1D1D;
    color:#FFFFFF
    }
    #main {
    height:auto;
    margin:0 auto;
    position:relative;
    width:671px;
    text-align: left;
    background:url(../images/container-background.jpg) repeat-y scroll 0 0;
    padding-left:10px;

    }

    #top image {
    background:url(../images/top-container.png);
    width:671px;
    height:
    }
    #credit, #sort {
    margin: 0 auto;
    width: 640px;
    font-size: 85%;
    color: #294550;
    text-align: right;
    clear: both;
    }
    #credit a, #sort a {
    text-decoration: none;
    color: #294550;
    border-bottom: 1px dotted #294550;
    }
    #credit a:hover, #sort a:hover {
    color: #748da0;
    border-bottom: 1px solid #294550;
    text-decoration: none;
    }
    #gallerytitle {
    border-bottom: none
    padding-bottom: 14px;
    margin-bottom: 20px;
    /*min-height: 40px;
    _height: 40px;*/
    }
    #gallerytitle h2 {
    font-weight: normal;
    font-size: 12pt;
    margin-top: 18px;
    width:510px;
    }

    word press seems like it could be the best option that plugin rob suggested would be very useful. i’m gonna sort it out so the home page has 4 links (sports photography, landscapes and random, articles published and 2008 photographs) and in the sports page i’m trying to have it set up so you click on a date or title and the images posted then will appear.

    not sure if wordpress allows it but i was thinking using jquery to have each date/title as a link so it will load a seperate html page up on the screen, similar to the .loadout thing chris did in one of his tutorials.

    thanks very much mate and for the little lesson :)

    k i’ve been trying to get the ie error fixed by changing the padding and it doesn’t work. in ie the background for the text repeats past the bottom image of the div and i have no idea how to fix it. in FF it looks perfect but in IE i have no idea what could be causing it

    this is getting really annoying now i’ve tried what you suggested and its not working heres the code of the twitter i put in my css

    this is the styling for all links

    Code:
    a:link {
    text-decoration: none;
    font-weight: bold;
    background-color: none;
    color: #FFFFFF;
    }
    a:visited {
    text-decoration: none;
    font-weight: bold;
    background-color: none:;
    color: #FFFFFF;
    }
    a:hover {
    text-decoration: none;
    font-weight: bold;
    background-color: none:
    color: #FFFFFF;
    }
    a:active {
    text-decoration: none;
    font-weight: bold;
    background-color: none;
    color: #FFFFFF;
    }
    a:focus {
    text-decoration: none;
    font-weight: bold;
    background-color: none;
    color: #FFFFFF;
    }

    and this is the code that i put further down my css file

    Code:
    #twitter_update_list a:link {

    a:link {
    text-decoration: none;
    font-weight: bold;
    background-color: none;
    color: #000000;
    }
    a:visited {
    text-decoration: none;
    font-weight: bold;
    background-color: none:;
    color: #000000;
    }
    a:hover {
    text-decoration: none;
    font-weight: bold;
    background-color: none:
    color: #000000;
    }
    a:active {
    text-decoration: none;
    font-weight: bold;
    background-color: none;
    color: #000000;
    }
    a:focus {
    text-decoration: none;
    font-weight: bold;
    background-color: none;
    color: #000000;
    }
    }

    i must be blind or something i can’t find the problem

    k well i tried the ie fix that was suggeted and it didn’t do anything and i haven’t got a clue how to fix it been looking for a few days and can’t see the problem.

    now for changing the link color of the twitter feed, i should put

    in the css file, after the a:link stuff i had near the top
    #twitter_update_list a:link {
    color:#000000; <<<<i want to change the link on the twitter feed to black and leave the normal nav white
    font-weight:bold;
    text-decoration:none;
    }
    not sure if thats right

    and in the html i should
    have another div of
    <div id="twitter_update_list a:link" </div> <<<<< should this surround all the other twitter divs and the java code?

    thanks for the help already guys i’m just out of ideas by myself here
