    which is safer, more used?
    XHTML 1.0 STRICT or XHTML 1.1 ?

    It is perfectly fine to use the HTML5 doctype. Go with that.

    You can use the doctype without using the actual properties.

    You dont have to use those elements. I would take some time to learn more about HTML5.
