WordPress update failed

Hi,

I am trying to update the wordpress version on
amijangla.com

I logged in to the wordpress dashboard and tried to update the wordpress from the update panel there.

the following is the error I got

http://amijangla.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2F

The amijangla.com page isn’t working

amijangla.com is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500

How to I solve this?

I’m not too familiar with WordPress but I imagine that, like all other CMS upgrades, the first step before upgrading will be to make a backup of the database and file structure before you begin. So at this stage you should restore from your backups. Then you should consult the official documentation/forums for upgrade procedures https://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress Looks like there is a manual way to upgrade if the auto-update fails, so try that.
