I thought this would be fairly easy but I’m having a lot of trouble with getting code and syntax highlighters to work properly with WordPress. At first I was trying to get it to work well with a Markdown editor but that proved even worse. I’ve scrapped that and I’m trying to get the regular WYSIWYG editor up and running with a syntax highlighter and it’s a disaster. My code gets mangled if I save it a second time. Is there something that needs to be turned off to prevent tags from automatically being rendered or is the latest WordPress (3.8) just breaking all syntax plugins?
