    Hey guys,

I noticed that since the 3.8 update all of my sites load Open Sans from Google Fonts in the header. This is great, as I often use Open Sans, but I don’t want to use it for every site.

Does anyone know of a way to deregister it? I’ve googled all kinds of strings around it but all I can come up with is people trying to remove it from the new default theme.

I’d like to remove it so I can skip loading it on sites where I don’t use it. Ideally, I’d like to have it only load on the dashboard, where it’s actually used, instead of stripping it totally.

    Any ideas?

Override it in your css file.

I mean, I can override it and I am as I develop these sites. I want to not load the resource when it’s not being used to avoid an additional, unnecessary server request.

You’d need to find where it is requested. Have you checked the default css files?

I’m not trying to remove it from Twenty Twelve or a child theme. For some reason it’s loading into my custom theme.

Nevermind… That worked. Weird, but okay. Thanks!
