I know Chris is a big WP fan, so hopefully, some readers have some answers for what I’m trying to accomplish.
Registering post types with WP 3.0+ is pretty straight forward and easy (and well documented). However, when using the slug parameter, you’re able to establish a URL slug for that post type, but if your post type is similar to the “post” post type, then you may want to use date functions to produce that URL. That’s what I want to do and something I’m very close to achieving, but am not quite there yet.
This URL gets me half way there (http://www.johnpbloch.com/2010/08/custom-post-types-and-better-permalinks/) but I have other issues regarding date based archiving and pagination of such.
Does anyone here know of any resources or libraries that has this type of solution laid out? Essentially, I want to replicate the WP Post post type and establish a second post type identical to it.
